Get help with ShowRevue
We answer every ticket, usually within one working day (Australian time). Start with the docs, and send your logs if something went wrong.
Need a person?
Or email support@showrevue.com. If something went wrong mid-show, send it as soon as you can: the more recent the report, the more useful the logs.
How to get your logs
- Quickest: in ShowRevue, choose ShowRevue → Send Feedback…. It attaches your diagnostics and recent logs for you.
- For a ticket or an email: open Preferences → Diagnostics and click Save Bug Report…. ShowRevue writes a zip to your Desktop with the logs, your device setup and the app version. It holds no video and no audio. Attach it to your ticket or email.
- Tell us: what you were doing, what you expected, what happened instead, and your macOS version. For a cloud show, include the show code. For capture problems, include the camera and audio interface.
Common questions
Nothing appears on the timeline when the desk fires a cue
The desk is sending to a different address or port than ShowRevue is listening on. Check the console settings in ShowRevue and the desk's OSC output, and on grandMA3 make sure OSC output is enabled.
Timecode reads nothing, or freezes partway through
For LTC, check the input device and channel in Settings, Timecode, and watch the meter: the level should land without clipping. If it freezes mid-take the source dropped.
Live Notes won't load on a phone
The phone has to be on the same network as the Mac, and guest Wi-Fi in many venues blocks device-to-device traffic. If you can't fix the house network, use a cloud show, which routes notes over the internet.
Stage Display works on one screen but not another
Any browser on the network can open it, and the screen needs no licence, so a failure here is nearly always the network. Try the same address on a laptop next to the Mac to narrow it down.
The app says a port is in use at launch
Something else on the Mac is holding a port ShowRevue listens on. The notice says which one, and you can change it in Preferences.
My licence won't activate
Sign in and check the licence is attached to the email you used. Licences are per Mac, so if you've moved to a new one, release the old Mac from your account first.
How much disk does a tech day need?
Allow 100 GB or more of free space for a full tech day. ProRes LT uses far more than H.264 or H.265.
Can I try it before paying?
Yes. Playing recordings is free with no time limit, and there's a 14-day Professional trial that records against your real console, clock and cue sources. No card and no account.
